Teaching Personnel is seeking a skilled Academic Coach - PE to join our team at an Ofsted Good, diverse secondary school in Northumberland. As a highly motivated and dedicated professional, you will play a vital role in promoting physical activity, health, and wellbeing among students while fostering a love for sports and fitness.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will have the opportunity to deliver engaging and dynamic PE lessons that cater to students' diverse interests, abilities, and needs. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing high-quality PE curricula that meet the needs and interests of students.
- Providing instruction and guidance to help students develop fundamental movement skills, sports-specific techniques, and tactical understanding across various sports and physical activities.
- Encouraging students to lead active and healthy lifestyles by promoting the importance of physical fitness and wellbeing through practical demonstrations and theoretical understanding.
- Creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered to participate and succeed in PE, regardless of their background or ability.
- Assessing students' progress and attainment in PE through observation, skill assessments, and performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
We are looking for a qualified and experienced PE Teacher who possesses:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialization in Physical Education.
- A passion for promoting physical activity, health, and wellbeing among young people, with a commitment to inspiring and motivating students through PE.
- Experience teaching PE at the secondary level, with a strong understanding of curriculum requirements, sports coaching principles, and assessment practices.
- Knowledge of a range of sports, games, and physical activities, with the ability to adapt teaching approaches to suit the needs and interests of students.
