About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team of dedicated professionals in Weston Super Mare. As a key member of our team, you will provide support to students of all abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), in a mainstream or specialist school setting.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the classroom environment to ensure a safe and productive learning space
  • Run activities and interventions to support student learning and development
  • Lead 1:1 and small group interventions to support students with diverse learning needs
  • Support students with SEN, including those with physical, emotional, or learning disabilities
  • Report writing and liaison with Senior Leadership Team (SLT) on student progress

About You:

  • Experience working with children, particularly toddlers, in a school or educational setting
  • Knowledge of special education practices and strategies to support students with SEN
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with students with diverse learning needs
  • Strong organizational skills to assist with lesson planning and classroom management
  • Strong knowledge of the UK curriculum and educational standards
