Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Aviation Safety Specialist to join our team in Birmingham, UK. As a key player in our rapidly expanding business, you will ensure compliance with regulatory standards while driving a culture of safety excellence across our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Document SMS: Lead the development of operational risk and safety risk management processes by documenting the Safety Management System.
  • Identify and Address Risks: Assess areas of compliance risk and business vulnerabilities, implementing corrective action plans to address potential threats.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents to establish root causes, assign corrective actions, and ensure resolution through root cause analysis.
  • Policy Development: Maintain and develop company policies in relation to compliance assurance and SMS.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Report daily safety performance metrics to the Head of Safety & Compliance, proactively identifying risks and areas for improvement.
  • Training and Education: Create training materials and deliver engaging training sessions on SMS compliance, human factors, and safety principles.
  • Continuous Improvement: Coordinate site reporting and investigation processes to drive the close-out of improvement actions in accordance with SMS requirements.
  • Readiness Assessments: Regularly assess the organization's state of readiness for audits and compliance reviews.

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
