Job Summary

Macstaff is seeking an Environmental Compliance Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing environmental compliance for a leading global consulting, engineering, and construction management firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute a phased implementation plan for the Global Environmental Compliance (GEC) program, prioritizing high-exposure jurisdictions based on site count and rental space.
  2. Conduct thorough environmental baseline assessments, including site-specific risk profiling and inventory of permits and licenses.
  3. Map the regulatory landscape for each jurisdiction, identifying applicable environmental requirements.
  4. Perform compliance gap analyses, develop corrective action plans, and implement necessary measures to ensure compliance.
  5. Establish and implement a compliance management system, including tools for tracking permits, deadlines, and corrective actions.
  6. Develop and deliver compliance training programs for site operation teams.
  7. Monitor and report on program performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Facilities, Corp. EHS&S, Legal, and regional EHS&S teams, to ensure program success.
  9. Collaborate with external consultants or legal counsel as needed for regulatory research or compliance support.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in environmental compliance, preferably in a multinational.
  • Understanding of environmental regulations in either the UK or US.
  • Good knowledge of risk assessment methodologies.
  • Good project management skills, with experience in leading complex initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of compliance management software and systems.
  • Good knowledge of standards and best practices in environmental management.
