Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team at the Orion Group in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled professional to take on a challenging role and make a significant impact on our organization's success.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in engineering practices, with a strong background in management and leadership. They will be responsible for overseeing all engineering tasks, ensuring action, completion, and closure, and managing a team of engineers to support the technical requirements of the business.

This is a full-time position that requires a high level of commitment and dedication. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively as a team member, with good communication skills and the ability to motivate and influence others indirectly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all engineering tasks to ensure action, completion, and closure.
  • Manage a team of engineers to support the technical requirements of the business.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards, and work instructions.
  • Participate in project and technical meetings as required.
  • Liaise with others within the business in support of technical queries and investigations.
  • Ensure creation and provision of advice/approval of Technical Bulletins and other technical instructions and reports.
  • Lead and manage internal Engineering Projects.
  • Assist the Head of Special Projects and Engineering with providing technical support and guidance across the business.

Requirements:

  • Engineering Degree with relevant experience in engineering practices.
  • Holding or in the process of obtaining Chartered Engineer Status (preferable).
  • Commitment to continual improvement and flexible approach to change.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member with good communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to delivering HSE&Q excellence.
  • Ability to motivate and influence others indirectly.
