Construction Demathieu & Bard (CDB) Inc. is a leading Canadian construction company with over 160 years of experience in the industry. As a subsidiary of Demathieu Bard, a French-based company, CDB has been operating in Canada since 1997. The company specializes in major infrastructure construction and rehabilitation, known for its innovative and complex construction methodologies.

As the general contractor, construction manager, and/or project manager, CDB delivers complex and challenging projects, particularly heavy infrastructure projects such as bridges, canals, dams, tunnels, culverts, and viaducts. Reporting to the Vice President of Ontario, the technical/proposal writer will support the estimating team and be responsible for preparing and submitting project proposals, gathering content, writing, and proofreading technical documents.

The ideal candidate will closely work with estimators and project managers through the proposal development process to generate engineering/construction-based technical content. They will interview staff to produce or update CVs and profile sheets for construction projects, outline, write, proof-read, and edit qualification and bid documents, and coordinate proposal process and review discussions with internal team members and external project partners.

The successful candidate will have a college diploma or bachelor's degree in a relevant area, such as English, Media Writing, Communications, or Journalism. They will have proven experience working with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro, and at least 2 years of technical writing experience, preferably in the construction industry.

Requirements:

  • College diploma or bachelor's degree in a relevant area
  • Proven experience working with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • At least 2 years of technical writing experience in the construction industry
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
