Medical Oncologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Oncologist to join our dedicated team at the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust. As a key member of our Oncology team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our cancer services.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in Lung, Upper GI or Colorectal Cancer and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also be expected to share acute oncology duties with the rest of the consultant team.
A financial incentive package may be available for the right candidate.
Main ResponsibilitiesThis is a fantastic opportunity for a clinician with imagination, drive and commitment to work with our Oncology Consultants and the wider cancer multidisciplinary team. You will be expected to work in two main tumour sites with some flexibility depending on your preferences, ideally covering systemic therapy for Lung, Upper GI or Colorectal Cancer.
You will also contribute to the acute oncology inpatient service in UHMB, working in partnership with our current UHMB team and visiting Clinical Oncologists from Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
This is a pan-UHMB appointment, and the appointee will be expected to work across at least two of the three UHMB sites: Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Westmoreland General Hospital and Furness General Hospital.
The Trust is a recognised Cancer Unit, providing systemic therapy for all common tumour sites. We welcome informal discussions/visits.
Person Specification- Full registration with the General Medical Council MRCP or equivalent
- Specialist Registrar in Medical Oncology or equivalent recognised training
