About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in providing exceptional care to older adults with mental health needs. As a Consultant Psychiatrist for Older Adults, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of patients, providing clinical leadership, and contributing to the development of our mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide high-quality clinical care to patients with mental health needs, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  2. Lead and manage a team of junior doctors, providing supervision and support to ensure the delivery of excellent patient care.
  3. Contribute to the development of our mental health services, including service planning, quality improvement, and research.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including social workers, nurses, and therapists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  5. Participate in education and training, including teaching and supervising junior doctors, and contributing to the development of our education and training programs.
Requirements
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Experience of working with older adults with mental health needs, including dementia and other complex conditions.
  • Excellent clinical skills, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to lead and manage a team of junior doctors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
