Brakes Performance Engineer

REE is revolutionizing the electric mobility industry from the ground-up. Our innovative REE-corners and fully flat, ultra-modular EV platforms are set to become the standard for electric vehicles. Providing complete design freedom to build mission-specific EVs, EVs 'Powered by REE' will provide maximum room for passengers, cargo, and batteries with the smallest footprint, helping to reduce carbon emissions for a greener world.

 

We are currently seeking an experienced Brakes Performance Engineer to support REE's rapid growth and contribute to the development of our cutting-edge electric vehicles.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of brakes vehicle testing and performance strategies to meet program-specific attribute targets and timing.
  • Design and write REE brakes test procedures for development and performance sign-off criteria.
  • Perform vehicle testing activities, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Responsible for brakes vehicle instrumentation and calibration.
  • Provide technical support for braking system design for manufacturability (DFMEA) and develop system design verification plans (DVP).
  • Lead benchmarking activities to identify best practices and innovative solutions in the industry.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including validation and verification, software, and controls.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a complex engineering environment, with a focus on developing and testing braking systems within an OEM or tier 1 organization.
  • Experience with braking performance tests, ABS tests, and NVH analysis.
  • Proven experience with Vector software and vehicle test instrumentation and logging.
  • Experience with brake-by-wire systems and actuation is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of braking system attributes, foundation brakes, controls/SW, and homologation requirements.
  • Proven test planning and reporting skills.
  • Ability to manage workload in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including SharePoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work alongside talented colleagues as part of a driven and dedicated team.
  • Role mostly based at the UK test facility, with potential for travel to overseas test locations.
