About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialty Doctor to join our team in General Adult Psychiatry. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our improvement and transformation journey, shaping the future of healthcare in Hampshire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting us on our journey to bring together all NHS community and mental health services provided in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. This includes services provided by Solent NHS Trust, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, Isle of Wight NHS Trust, and Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The post-holder will join a team of 7 consultant colleagues, 3 middle-grade doctors, and approximately 7 junior doctors in the medical team supporting the Acute Care Pathway. The Leadership team across the pathway consists of 2 Ward Managers at Band 7, 2 Band 8A Modern Matrons, 2 Band 7 leaders in the CRHT, and a Crisis pathway Manager Band 8A.

Person Specification
  • Recognised basic Medical Degree
  • Full GMC Registration with license to practice
  • 4 years postgraduate training since first obtaining registration, including adequate experience in the specialty
  • MRCPsych or equivalent
  • Section 12 Approval
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications
Experience
  • Minimum 12 months experience in adult mental health
  • Experience of assessing and treating patients in the inpatient/community psychiatric settings
  • Knowledge of UK Hospital Systems (or equivalent)
  • Experience of multidisciplinary teamworking
  • Experience of risk assessment
  • Knowledge and evidence of participation in CPD
