About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated dentist to join our dynamic Special Care Dental Service to deliver routine and urgent dental care to patients with additional needs, social and behavioural limitations, domiciliary dental needs, anxiety management, and bariatric care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking thorough examinations of patients, providing dental care assessments, and planning and managing complex patient management issues. They will also be involved in clinical duties related to comprehensive dental screening, survey, and treatment services, including emergency treatment for patients requiring Special Care Dentistry and Specialist Occasional Care.

The role will involve working in our dental surgeries with the support of experienced dental nurses and therapists to assist in achieving UDA targets and working within NHS Regulations. The post holder will also have opportunities to develop special interests and be supported by an enthusiastic and dedicated team, including Specialists in Special Care Dentistry, Paediatric Dentistry, and GA/Sedation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake thorough examinations of patients and provide dental care assessments
  • Plan and manage complex patient management issues
  • Deliver routine and urgent dental care to patients with additional needs
  • Work in our dental surgeries with the support of experienced dental nurses and therapists
  • Develop special interests and be supported by an enthusiastic and dedicated team
