London, Greater London, United Kingdom Faculty Full time

About Faculty

Faculty is a leading applied AI company that transforms organisational performance through safe, impactful and human-led AI. Founded in 2014 with our Fellowship programme, we train academics to become commercial data scientists. Today, we provide over 300 global customers with industry-leading software and bespoke AI consultancy for retail, healthcare, energy, and governmental organisations.

Job Overview

This role involves designing, building, and deploying production-grade software, infrastructure, and MLOps systems that leverage machine learning. The work you do will help our customers solve a broad range of high-impact problems in our Government & Public Services team.

To succeed in this role, you must be eligible for Security Clearance.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • You will develop new methodologies and champion best practices for managing AI systems deployed at scale.
  • You will support both technical and non-technical stakeholders to deploy ML to solve real-world problems.
  • You will build software and infrastructure that leverages Machine Learning, creating reusable, scalable tools to enable better delivery of ML systems.
  • You will work with our customers to understand their needs, collaborating with data scientists and engineers to develop best practices and new technologies.
Your Ideal Background

We are looking for individuals who share our principles and excitement to help our customers reap the rewards of AI responsibly. If you're the right candidate for us, you probably:

  • Think scientifically, testing assumptions and seeking evidence.
  • Love finding new ways to solve old problems.
  • Are pragmatic and outcome-focused, balancing the big picture with the little details.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of, and experience with the full machine learning lifecycle, including deploying trained machine learning models into production environments. Experience with models developed using frameworks such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch is also essential.

A strong background in software engineering best practices and developing applications in Python is required, along with technical experience of cloud architecture, security, deployment, and open-source tools ideally with one of the 3 major cloud providers (AWS, GCP or Azure). Experience with containers, specifically Docker and Kubernetes, is also necessary.

We estimate the salary for this role to be around £85,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
