Fortice is seeking a highly skilled Senior GIS Architect to join our team. As a key member of our GIS team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining GIS applications and services using ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS API for JavaScript or Python.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for GIS projects
- Create and manage geospatial databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
- Develop and implement web-based mapping applications and interactive visualization tools
- Perform spatial analysis and data manipulation using ArcGIS tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL)
- Optimize GIS workflows and processes for efficiency and effectiveness
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for GIS applications and systems
- Recommend improvements to existing systems based on your knowledge of the latest GIS technologies and best practices
- Prepare documentation for GIS applications, including user manuals, technical specifications, and training materials
- Mentor junior GIS developers and guide best practices and methodologies
- Experience in GIS development, with a focus on ArcGIS and Opensource GIS technologies
- Experience in ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Pro
- Proficiency in GIS programming and scripting languages, particularly ArcPy, Arcade, Python, and SQL
- Solid understanding of GIS concepts, spatial analysis, and cartography
- Experience with spatial databases (e.g., Oracle Spatial, PostgreSQL / PostGIS, SQL Server) and data management practices
- It would be great if you had some exposure to AI/ML usage in GIS Applications
