Safety and Health Advisor

Morson Talent is seeking a highly skilled SHE Advisor to join our team at the UK's leading defence manufacturer. As a SHE Advisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and deployment of the Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) policy, systems, and objectives for a business or site(s).
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and Maintain SHE Management Systems: Support the development, maintenance, and/or deployment of a SHE management system that meets the requirements of Operational Framework and International SHE Standards (such as ISO45001 and ISO14001) and supports the achievement of organisational goals.
- Improve SHE Practice and Performance: Support activities associated with improving SHE practice and performance within a business area or site(s), including (but not limited to): deployment and implementation of SHE Policy and Management Systems, SHE objectives and targets, provision of competent SHE advice on risk management and control, collation and provision of SHE performance reports (such as injuries, audits, regulatory issues), investigation and reporting of incidents in accordance with regulatory and/or customer requirements, provision of an effective interface with representatives dealing with liability issues.
- Develop and Implement SHE Change Programmes: Support the development and implementation of innovative SHE change programmes, ensuring consistency and effective improvement in SHE risk management and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and the sharing of best practices.
The role holder is required to hold a comprehensive and contemporary technical understanding of safety, health, and environmental management standards and practice, and relevant processes and procedures. The role holder will hold an in-depth understanding of SHE requirements, internal and external best practice and able to use their knowledge to articulate these in order to ensure effective deployment within their work area.
The role requires an in-depth understanding of how to influence others in order to operationalise, integrate, and deliver SHE processes, projects, and change in a business, through having a good knowledge of the business or site(s), a contemporary view of their deliverables and aims, the challenges they face, the developments which they are planning and enacting.
Qualifications:The role holder is required to hold one or more of the following QCF/NQF Level 3 (or higher) SHE qualifications: NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Level 3, NVQ in Occupational Safety and Health Practice, IEMA or NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management, or an equivalent qualification in Safety, Health, and/or Environmental subject.
