About the Opportunity

This role is for an Operations Manager to lead a nuclear safety case team within our Nuclear Power business. Our offices are located in Gloucester, Knutsford, London, and Newcastle, with a significant number of other Jacobs offices around the UK that could also be used as a base location as required. We operate flexible and hybrid working arrangements and although this role is assumed to be full-time, we will consider part-time applications.

Your Impact

As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in delivering high-quality safety cases for nuclear power stations. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our clients' safety cases meet the highest standards, and that our teams are equipped to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and grow strong, highly value-adding client relationships through privileged positions and interfaces linked to existing framework agreements
  • Build relationships within Jacobs and with partner organizations to deliver value-adding solutions to our clients and to enhance delivery
  • Oversight of the delivery of projects and tasks
  • Ensure excellent project execution, meeting or beating the delivery commitments made
  • Ensure that all work undertaken complies with the H&S, Quality, and governance requirements of the business
  • Ability to work remotely whilst successfully achieving deliverable-based outcomes through a virtual team
  • Coordination of resourcing/recruitment needs, and leading with candidate interviews, candidate selection, and approval process
Requirements
  • A background or knowledge of developing safety cases, or working in process safety roles in a highly regulated industry is beneficial
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and team working skills
  • Ability to think strategically and clearly define, communicate, and deliver a business strategy
  • Experience of business development and the production of winning bids for the provision of successful technical services and consultancy that comply with corporate governance
  • Good understanding of financial and commercial aspects of operations management
  • Able to communicate effectively and develop relationships at all levels of the business and external organizations
  • Experience of managing/oversight of high-performing projects and project delivery in a highly regulated sector
