Job Overview

At University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, we are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Co-ordinator to join our Major Trauma Ward team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective, safe, and evidence-based patient care in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Conduct.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provides effective, safe, evidence-based patient care in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct
  2. Practices within the NMC code of conduct and has responsibility for promoting and monitoring this practice on the ward
  3. Takes the lead role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualised evidence-based patient care, including the monitoring of care standards through audit and other activities
  4. Participates in the development and implementation of an explicit ward philosophy of care
  5. Responsible for the process of attendances, admissions & transfers and plans discharges in accordance with UHSussex policy and standards, including liaison with partner agencies
  6. Actively participates and monitors the promotion of education for patients, their relatives, and colleagues, ensuring these needs are met within available resources
  7. Ensures provision of all drugs as prescribed in accordance with UHSussex policy

Person Specification

Qualifications/Skills

  1. UK NMC PIN required
  2. > 18 months B5 experience
  3. Shift leading experience on acute ward
