We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Systems Modelling Expert to join our team at the National Oceanography Centre in Liverpool, UK. The successful candidate will work on developing and applying the data-assimilation modelling system, based on NEMO and NEMOVAR, currently used in the NW European Continental shelf seas.
The primary focus of this role will be predicting the physical processes that control plankton growth in shelf seas, including seasonal onset and breakdown of stratification, mixing at the pycnocline and cross-frontal transport. To achieve this, the candidate will work closely with the UK Met Office and collaborate widely across the UK and internationally.
The estimated salary for this position is £28,200 - £30,600 per annum (Band 6), depending on skills and experience. In addition to the competitive remuneration package, we offer a RCUK pension scheme, 30 days annual leave, and 14 public/local days off.
