Nursery Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Nursery Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of our nursery staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to young children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Child Care and Supervision: Assist in the daily care and supervision of children in the nursery, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Activity Implementation: Support the implementation of age-appropriate activities and programs, promoting learning and development in a fun and engaging way.
  • Environment Maintenance: Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for children, adhering to health and safety regulations and nursery policies.
  • Supporting Children's Needs: Help with feeding, nappy changes, and personal hygiene routines, demonstrating empathy and patience when interacting with children.
  • Playtime and Outdoor Activities: Monitor and engage in playtime and outdoor activities, promoting physical activity and exploration.
  • Record Keeping: Assist in maintaining records and updating children's progress reports, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other staff members to plan and organize educational and recreational activities, promoting a sense of community and teamwork.
  • Parent Communication: Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on their child's development and progress.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Prior experience working in a nursery or childcare setting is preferred, with a focus on assisting with child development activities and routines.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Understanding of child development principles and practices, knowledge of health and safety regulations in a nursery environment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively as part of a team, patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with children.

Working Conditions:

  • Nursery Setting: Work in a nursery setting with young children, providing a supportive and stimulating environment.
  • Hours and Schedule: Full-time hours, including some weekends or evenings as required, with a focus on providing consistent and reliable care.
  • Physical Demands: Physical stamina to supervise and engage in active play with children, adhering to health and safety guidelines and proper hygiene practices.
