About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Audio Production Manager to join our dynamic audio team at Pan Macmillan. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in managing and inspiring our talented Audio Editorial team, overseeing the entire production lifecycle of our audiobooks, and ensuring our products meet and exceed industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Foster a collaborative environment within the Audio Editorial team, ensuring high-quality work and effective project management.
  • Project Management: Handle audiobook recordings, including casting, author approvals, negotiating fees, and scheduling with external stakeholders, while maintaining adherence to production budgets and key performance indicators.
  • Production Budgeting: Oversee the production budgeting process for audio titles, ensuring productions are cost-effective and meet profit targets.
  • Contract and Legal: Work closely with the Contracts and Legal teams to ensure all contractual and legal matters relating to audio production are completed to avoid delays to publication.
  • Third-Party Relationships: Build and maintain strong working relationships with third-party studios and audio production companies, leveraging negotiation skills to ensure high-quality and cost-efficient audio productions.
  • Innovation: Promote innovation within the audio production process by leading the integration of AI technology and other advancements, sharing knowledge and best practice across the organisation.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in audiobook publishing.
  • Negotiation and Budget Management: Excellent negotiation and budget management skills.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth technical knowledge of audio production.
  • Project Management: Solid background in the audio industry and project management.
  • Collaboration: Ability to foster a collaborative environment within the team.
Desirable Skills
  • AI Experience: Experience of working with AI in audio production.
  • Industry Network: A strong network within the audio production and publishing industry.
  • Management Experience: Management experience with a proven track record of leading and inspiring team members.
  • Innovation: Ability to innovate and adapt in a constantly changing industry.

This is a full-time, permanent position, and will be based in our offices in Farringdon, London, with some flexibility to work from home each week.
