Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Yorkshire

Salary: Circa £80k DOE + Company Pickup

Job Overview:

Multitask Personnel is partnering with a prestigious Electrical Engineering Contractor to fill the role of Electrical Engineer. This contractor has been a leader in the industry for over 25 years.

The successful candidate will be a proactive and versatile individual who can manage the entire project lifecycle, from initial customer engagement and opportunity identification to the final stages of installation, testing, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance support.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Customer Engagement:
    • Engage with existing and potential customers to explore and understand their project requirements.
    • Regularly review and update the status of quotes and tenders on the CRM system.
  2. Project Management:
    • Oversee project budgets, manage procurement processes, and prevent scope creep.
    • Attend project meetings, manage project documentation, including CAD records, test and commissioning documents, and related software.
    • Provide commercial, technical, and project management support throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Assist colleagues as needed to ensure project success.
  3. Technical Expertise:
    • Define and develop engineering solutions in collaboration with the customer.
    • Conduct design calculations, prepare drawings, and develop necessary software for projects.
    • Ensure all project activities adhere to high standards of quality, safety, and tidiness.
  4. Installation and On-Site Work:
    • Manage and execute 70% of work related to the installation of heavy electrical equipment, such as field conveyors and Motor Control Centres (MCCs).
    • Set out jobs based on drawings and specifications, requisitioning necessary installation materials.
Requirements:
  1. Extensive experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on heavy electrical installations.
  2. Proficiency in project management, including budgeting, procurement, and documentation management.
  3. Ability to work as part of a team and manage a core team of professionals to deliver high-quality projects.
  4. Must have been a registered Apprentice or undergone some equivalent method of training and have had practical training in electrical installation work.
  5. Must have obtained an NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation work or HNC/D (Electrical Engineering) or experienced-based equivalent.
  6. UK Driving Licence.
  7. 5 years of background in Aggregates, Cement, Mining, Rail, Water or materials processing industry.
  8. Familiarity with Amtech/Trimble software, AutoCAD and PLC & SCADA systems is desirable.
  9. Detail-oriented, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of work quality and safety.
  10. Flexible, with the ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
  11. Contracted Working Hours - 40 hours, Monday to Friday.
  12. Laptop and phone provided.
  13. Pension Scheme with a 4% company contribution.
  14. 24 days of holiday + 8 statutory days.
  15. Business Tools Provided - Laptop and / or tablet PC, mobile phone.
