As the Head of Accounting Technical Policy at Harrison Holgate, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Group accounting policies. This will involve defining an effective mechanism to ensure Group-wide compliance with accounting policies. You will also act as the UK Financial Controller, enforcing adherence to European regulatory and statutory reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Group Accounting Policies to establish clear guidelines.
• Implement an effective mechanism to ensure Group-wide compliance with accounting policies.
• Conduct ongoing assessments and provide comprehensive reports on the development of accounting standards, including their potential impact on the Group and Risk Bearing Legal Entities (RBLE).
• Provide essential support for monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Act as the Financial Controller, enforcing adherence to European regulatory and statutory reporting requirements, and advising management on needed actions.

Requirements

• Qualified accountants with extensive technical knowledge of accounting concepts/theories and how they apply to the insurance industry.
• Relevant experience gained within insurance/reinsurance companies is essential for this role.
