Software Developer

Oxford Instruments Plc is seeking a skilled Software Developer to join its Software Engineering Team. This team is responsible for developing world-class technical software used in academia and industry to create scientific breakthroughs.
The ideal candidate will have a science, engineering, or software engineering qualification and experience in PC-based software development using .NET C#. They will also have experience with tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, a source code control system, a bug or issue tracking system, and debuggers.
The Software Developer will work in a small scrum team to deliver a defined area of functionality targeted at the next scheduled release. They will use the company's internally defined software design methodologies and tools to develop robust software components and systems.
The successful candidate will have proven ability to work well as part of a team, demonstrable confidence and communication skills to share technical expertise to help others, and attention to detail and ability to work diligently to a defined process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing software components and systems using the company's software design methodologies and tools
- Working in a small scrum team to deliver a defined area of functionality targeted at the next scheduled release
- Providing ongoing support for existing products as well as developing new products
What We Are Looking For:
- A science, engineering, or software engineering qualification
- Experience in PC-based software development using .NET C#
- Experience with tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, a source code control system, a bug or issue tracking system, and debuggers
- Proven ability to work well as part of a team
- Demonstrable confidence and communication skills to share technical expertise to help others
- Attention to detail and ability to work diligently to a defined process
