Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Reception teacher to join our vibrant and fun primary school in Reading. As a Reception teacher, you will be responsible for the pastoral care of children taking their final steps in early years, promoting teamwork, and cultivating a conducive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum to groups of children while focusing on each individual child's learning targets, encouraging their strengths, and improving their weaknesses.
  • Develop maths ability and introduce fractions, statistics, and geometry to children.
  • Help children develop their writing ability by creating plots, characters, and settings for stories.
  • Keep track of children's progress and occasionally report back to parents.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications (Experienced teachers as well as ECTs are welcome to apply).
  • Ability to commute to Reading on a daily basis.
  • Experience teaching EYFS.
  • Confidence to hit the ground running, proactively lead a class, and manage behavior in line with school behavior policies.
