Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team at TM Green Group. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the commercial process, from pre-construction through to final account.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the commercial process, including preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts
  • Ensure accurate cost reporting and forecasting, ensuring projects are kept within budget
  • Negotiate and procure subcontracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms
  • Measure, value, submit and negotiate contract variations
  • Liaise with project teams to ensure effective communication and coordination
  • Conduct risk analysis and value management to optimize project value
  • Provide regular updates to senior management and key stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, health and safety regulations, and company policies
  • Resolve any contractual disputes promptly and efficiently
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, ideally with exposure to education projects
  • Knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts and construction law
  • Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Experience with cost management software and MS Office applications
