We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at City Building Engineering Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a proactive and multi-discipline maintenance service to our stores, ensuring that all maintenance and repair work is completed to the highest standard.

  • Prioritize maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
  • Advise the store manager of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the running of the store.
  • Carry out minor alterations and installations in accordance with current specifications.
  • Complete general repairs and maintenance to Co-op store sites as designated by the Contract Manager.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment necessary to complete maintenance and repairs are available and serviceable at all times.
  • Attend training courses as and where necessary to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments.
  • Comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times.
  • Work with company and Co-op colleagues to ensure laid-down standards of quality are maintained at all times.
  • Ensure company vehicle is kept clean, well maintained and serviced as required.

Key Knowledge, Skills + Abilities

  • NVQ Level 3 (Carpentry & Joinery) or Equivalent
  • H&S Awareness for Operatives or Equivalent
  • CSC Skill card - Site Operative grade
  • Previous Exposure to operating within a retail facilities management environment
  • Ability to complete 1st fix across multi-disciplines (i.e. Joinery/Building/Plumbing)
  • Full UK drivers licence
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and effectively as part of a team
