Senior Botanist

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Botanist to join our team in York. As a key member of our multidisciplinary consultancy, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering vegetation surveys and botanical assessments across a diverse range of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Aiding and conducting detailed botanical surveys and habitat condition assessments.
2. Assisting in the preparation of biodiversity management plans and botanical inventories.
3. Supporting the integration of botanical expertise into biodiversity net gain (BNG).

Requirements:

1. Demonstrable experience in botany and habitat assessment (at least 2 seasons' experience).
2. Knowledge of botanical surveying techniques and plant identification.
3. Familiarity with biodiversity assessment tools (e.g., DEFRA Metric) and GIS systems.
4. Full UK Driving Licence.
5. Full right to work in the UK.
6. Membership with CIEEM.
