Job Description:

As a Trainee Teaching Assistant with ABC Teachers, you will have the opportunity to work with primary, secondary, and SEND schools across the Midlands. Our National Teaching Assistant Programme is designed to support individuals who want to start a Teaching Assistant career.

We are passionate about making a positive impact in education and are committed to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All staff we register will undergo thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the class teacher with managing behaviour, supporting with interventions, and providing additional support to children with SEND.

Record and report on pupil progress and behaviour, ensuring children are making good progress in the classroom.

Requirements:

Personal experience working with children, although this does not have to be school-based. Experience with children, young people, and adults with SEND would be ideal.

Passion and drive to improve outcomes for children and young people.

Understanding of the importance of keeping children and young people safe.

Ability to demonstrate at interview the reasons for starting a career in education and explain the role of a Teaching Assistant in the school community.
