Premier Group Recruitment is seeking an experienced Product Design Director to lead and manage a team of Product Designers for a company specializing in consumer products.

This is a key leadership position, focusing on product innovation, team management, and delivering high-quality designs that resonate with customers and market trends.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in product design, preferably within the consumer goods industry, and a degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing a team of Product Designers to deliver innovative and market-leading consumer products
  • Overseeing the entire design process, from concept development through to final production
  • Ensuring the team's work aligns with brand guidelines, market needs, and strategic business objectives
  • Driving creativity and fostering a collaborative design culture
  • Collaborating closely with marketing, manufacturing, and sales teams to ensure product alignment and success
  • Providing mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members
  • Managing timelines and resources effectively to meet project milestones

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in product design, preferably within the consumer goods industry
  • A degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience leading a creative design team
  • Strong understanding of the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to production
  • Proficiency in 3D design software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, or similar) and an understanding of prototyping techniques
  • A creative and strategic mindset, with the ability to translate market insights into innovative product solutions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Estimated Salary: £55,000 - £75,000 per annum (plus benefits)
