Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Equipment Fitter to join our team at a busy operation in the Burton-on-Trent area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining heavy plant machinery and waste and recycling equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and repair of heavy plant machinery such as shredders, crushers, screeners, trommels, and loading shovels.
  • Performing regular inspections, servicing, and ensuring equipment is safe and operational, including part fitting and adjustments.
  • Diagnosing faults using computer-based diagnostic tools.
  • Utilizing hand and power tools, welding equipment, and electrical testing tools.
  • Repairing or replacing components, reassembling machinery, and conducting functionality tests.
  • Completing daily maintenance logs, recording work carried out and time spent.

Working Hours:

  • Monday–Friday, 47.5 hours per week.
  • Overtime, including weekend shifts as required.

Benefits:

  • Hourly rate: £18-£22.
  • Time and a half pay for Saturday mornings when required.
  • 22 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Enrollment in a Nest pension scheme.
