We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Design Authority Lead to join our team at Thales. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the technical solution is feasible, competitive, and meets customer expectations or product requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the primary technical leader of the bid or project team, providing technical guidance and oversight to ensure the solution meets customer requirements.
- Lead technical interactions with customers and end-users to ensure the solution is fit-for-purpose.
- Monitor, review, and advise on technical issues across the programme, ensuring compliance with product policies and requirements.
- Collaborate with the Solution Engineering Manager to review technical risks and opportunities, and develop mitigation plans.
- Prepare and submit the Design Verification and Validation (DVa) report to the Design Authority for approval.
- Approve main bid/project engineering reviews and deliverables, ensuring they meet technical and quality standards.
- Organize technical meetings and peer reviews with stakeholders to perform solution technical assessment and validation.
- Minimum 8-10+ years of experience in a PDA or equivalent customer-facing technical role.
- Broad knowledge of systems engineering, particularly in regards to requirements engineering and management.
- Understanding of various system lifecycles and experience with formal verification, validation, and acceptance activities.
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and analytical skills, with a strong command of the English language.
- Ability to accurately estimate and produce project and technical plans/specifications, with a self-starter mindset and attention to detail.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to balance strategic and tactical decisions.
- Ability to influence technical and non-technical decisions, with a strong understanding of commercial awareness in the technical domain.
- Experience with DOORS, JIRA, and Microsoft Office, with training and/or simulation domain knowledge and experience.
- Experience in bids and proposal development.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Science and/or Engineering.
- Ability to travel in the UK and internationally, with a valid passport and necessary visas.
