About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Advisor / Compliance Officer to join our operations team at Equinix. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in maintaining compliance with current occupational health and safety legislation throughout our data centers and undertakings.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement health and safety systems across the organization, providing comprehensive support to the health and safety manager.
  2. Contribute to industry knowledge at various Equinix UK forums and share information with the business management systems.
  3. Work with the Projects and Installations teams on notifiable and non-notifiable CDM projects.
  4. Advises stakeholders on the development of content and types of reports to be generated.
  5. Develops and implements training plans for standards, regulatory, and reporting requirements.
  6. Coordinates, facilitates, and conducts training, including tool box talks across cross-functional teams and contractors where required.
  7. Provides authoritative expertise in Health and Safety and supports cross-functional teams by engaging and completing risk assessments/method statements for operations at all UK-wide data centers.
  8. Leads Datacenter and cross-functional teams on assigned projects, balancing business need/knowledge with standards requirements.
  9. Identifies potential risks for non-compliance and leads mitigation/response efforts with external and internal groups.
  10. Conducts workplace inspections across UK sites and collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve non-compliance issues.
  11. Ensures UK sites and offices have emergency fire evacuations.
  12. Provides support to cross-functional teams and all interested parties for health and safety information and responding to queries in a timely manner.
  13. Monitors and maintains adherence to waste requirements across all Equinix UK sites.
Requirements
  1. Experience in operational occupational Health and Safety and carrying out risk assessments.
  2. Good working knowledge of MS office systems.
  3. Experience in a health and safety advisory role.
  4. Required to travel and report across all UK Equinix sites as per business needs.
