The National Speciality Advisory - Emergency Medicine Lead will provide clinical leadership and strategic oversight of emergency medical services across the country. This role will work closely with the Regional IUEC teams and the National Clinical Director for IUEC to ensure the delivery of high-quality emergency care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical advice and guidance to the National Clinical Lead for A&E on short-term operational issues within the region.
- Prepare a quarterly report on the performance of emergency departments in the region for the Senior Management Team.
- Provide expert guidance on clinical issues related to the improvement of emergency care systems to the Directorship of Emergency & Elective Care.
- Report monthly to the National Clinical Advisor (A&E) NHS England.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to NHS Improvement and local whistleblower policies.
- Ensure compliance with hospital infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
- Act as a role model, upholding high standards of professional behavior, integrity, and courtesy, and always acting in the best interests of patients.
- Deliver and promote strategy and innovation, and support operational excellence in the Sector.
- Work with a range of data, facts, and situations, often requiring detailed analysis and interpretation, to make decisions on the most appropriate approach.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Education to masters level or equivalent level or equivalent experience of working at a senior level in a specialist area.
- In-depth knowledge acquired over a significant period of time of leading, developing, and implementing national programs of work.
- Proven and significant leadership experience and/or formal management qualification.
- Proven experience of leading and delivering complex change and strategy development programs in a politically sensitive and complex environment.
- Highly developed communication skills with the ability to communicate on highly complex matters in a politically sensitive environment.
- Ability to form highly developed and successful working relationships with colleagues both internal and external to the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at any one time, ensuring they are kept on track and problems are solved quickly and effectively.
