About The Role

This is a fixed term post until December 2026 working 17.5 hours per week. Ideally, we are looking for an applicant who can start in March 2025.

The successful candidate will actively contribute to ground-breaking research using anonymised data held within SAIL Databank including records pertaining to the magistrate and Crown courts, prison, children's social care, education, substance misuse and health.

Key responsibilities include supporting the principal investigator (Dr Helen Hodges) with the preparation and analysis of the various datasets to examine the circumstances of children (under 18s) involved in criminal court proceedings across England and Wales.

Responsibilities
  • Support the principal investigator with the preparation and analysis of datasets
  • Contribute to the development of research ideas and methodologies
  • Liaise with key stakeholders and other interested parties on reporting and dissemination activities

The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.).
