We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our End of Life Services team as a Funeral Service Operative. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional end of life care, support, and experience to the deceased and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Collecting the deceased and transporting them to our funeral homes, often in challenging locations and circumstances.
- Assisting with the preparation of the deceased, including dressing and placing them in the coffin or casket.
- Driving our vehicles with pride and ensuring they are in pristine condition for each funeral.
- Acting as a bearer on all types of funerals and removals, providing a dignified and respectful service.
- Building strong relationships with our local communities, acting as a trusted ambassador for our funeral care services.
- Manual handling is a requirement of this role.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Ability to demonstrate resilience and work under pressure.
- High level of understanding, empathy, and compassion.
- Flexibility to support our on-call service, including evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts, as well as occasional cover for holidays, sickness, and busy periods.
- 31 days of annual leave (including bank holidays), increasing to a maximum of 36 days after 10 years' service.
