Gov Facility Services Ltd is a Ministry of Justice business providing critical services to HMPPS. Our team at HMP Swaleside, a CAT B Mens prison, works together to create a safe and nurturing environment.
We are seeking a dedicated Master Tradesperson - Locksmith and Carpenter to join our Facilities Maintenance Team. This self-contained city requires hundreds of people to keep it functioning smoothly and safely. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced colleagues, varying from Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators.
The Role
This role offers a competitive salary of £32,000 per annum, plus 25 days annual leave and Bank Holidays. You will be responsible for maintaining the facility's infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of our services. Your key duties will include:
- Maintenance and repair of locks, doors, and other carpentry-related tasks.
- Competency in power tools and machinery is essential.
- Basic IT skills are required for effective communication and record-keeping.
- You must possess good Health & Safety knowledge and hold a First Aid at Work Qualification.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A City & Guilds National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3 in Carpentry or an equivalent qualification.
- Substantial experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on safety and maintenance.
- Excellent organisational, time management, and people skills.
