Job Title: Commissioning Engineer

Contract Length: 12 months

Location: Capenhurst, Cheshire

Rate: PAYE or Umbrella options

Job Overview:

We are seeking up to six Project Testing & Handover Engineers to support the management of installation, testing/commissioning and handover of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Resourced programmes will be produced for specific projects and the PT&H Engineers will be responsible for delivery of the allocated work packages/projects to schedule and cost.
  2. The PT&H Engineers will be accountable to the Senior PT&H Engineer (or their delegate) for providing professional technical input into engineering activities associated with the testing, commissioning and handover of plant-based and infrastructure-based projects in accordance with UUK management arrangements.
  3. Good, broad understanding of other engineering disciplines, technologies, plant systems and processes that are present in the company.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including report writing.
  5. Thorough knowledge of up-to-date industrial practices related to discipline-specific engineering, including safety through design.
  6. Working knowledge of FATs, ITPs, SATs and how and when to use Reservation and Observations lists.
  7. Knowledge and understanding of CDM 2015.
  8. Knowledge and understanding of NEC3 contracts.
  9. Experience of producing high quality technical test documentation.
  10. Ability to assess problems, feasibility and help develop practical solutions.
  11. Ability to maintain and develop own technical knowledge to ensure the best, cost-effective and safe solutions are proposed and implemented.

Requirements:

  1. HNC minimum in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent subject.
  2. Associate Member (preferable) of a relevant engineering institution.
  3. Minimum five years within the last ten years, preferably within the nuclear, or within a highly regulated and quality-controlled industry such as oil/gas, power generation plant or pharmaceutical in roles reliant on professional engineering judgement.
  4. Understanding of UK nuclear regulatory requirements.
  5. Experience of complying with legal and regulatory standards and working with appropriate national and international design codes and standards.

Working Environment:

The work will be based at the Capenhurst site offices. Minimum SC clearance is essential.
