We are seeking a highly skilled Business Unit Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager to join our team at Octavius Infrastructure. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for defining and leading the HSE strategic plan across our framework, ensuring the highest level of safe and sustainable performance.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement HSE Strategies: Define and lead the HSE strategic plan, developing an efficient safety management plan that meets both internal requirements and supports customer aspirations.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Engage in creating a collaboration culture across the framework, including with customers, to ensure safe and sustainable performance.
- Ensure Compliance and Reporting: Ensure business compliance with correct reporting procedures and react with timely interventions.
- Continual Improvement: Provide impetus to the continual improvement of people skills and processes.
- Leadership and Guidance: Provide leadership advice and guidance on HSE legal requirements and industry best practice.

We are looking for a candidate with the following experience and knowledge:
- Extensive Practical Knowledge of HSE Legislation: You have extensive practical knowledge of HSE legislation.
- Experience of SHE Processes and Practices: You have experience of applying SHE processes and practices in remote site works.
- Working with SHE Counterparts: You have worked with SHE counterparts in client and certification bodies.
- Training and Instruction: You have experience in training and instruction.
- Civil Engineering Works Methodology: You have knowledge of civil engineering works methodology.
- Experience in a SHE Manager Role: You have worked in a SHE Manager role, ideally on rail projects.
- Broad Construction Knowledge: You have knowledge of broader construction, including groundworks, earthworks, drainage, and structures.
Qualifications: You hold a degree or equivalent level academic qualification and a minimum NEBOSH NVQ Level 4 and NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management or equivalents.
