Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrument Technician to join our team at the Humber Refinery. As an Instrument Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our on-line instrument and analyzer systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned, scheduled, and breakdown maintenance work to agreed quality standards, with a focus on continuous improvement of reliability.
  • Model company values and behaviors, and serve as a resource for support to the refinery.
  • Follow all maintenance procedures and best practices to deliver all maintenance requirements for on-line instrument and analyzer systems.
  • Take ownership of relevant instrument and analyzer procedures and drive their continued improvement.
  • Interface with operations department to ensure maintenance activities have minimal impact on process operation.
  • Support the implementation of new instrument and analyzer systems and engineered modifications to existing systems.
  • Own instrument and analyzer PPM worklists, ensuring all work is completed on time and PPM compliance targets are achieved.
  • Coach and mentor shift power and control technicians, apprentices, and contractors in all aspects of instrument and analyzer activities.
  • Interface with process technicians, field leaders, and process engineers to ensure work requests are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Drive team work principles within the instrument and analyzer group.
  • Own instrument and analyzer performance monitoring systems, providing all data required for scheduled updates.

Requirements

  • Legal right to work in the UK.
  • Discipline qualification (City & Guilds S/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Full, valid UK driving license.
  • Demonstrated plant maintenance experience with on-line instrument and analyzer systems.
  • Proven level of competence.
  • IT skills associated with data handling and data organization.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective time manager.
  • Team player.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with electrical equipment in refining or similar process industry.
  • Working knowledge of refinery topography.
