Job Description

VANRATH is recruiting a qualified and experienced Deputy Principal Accountant to join our client's finance team in Belfast. This role offers an exciting opportunity to become a key member of the financial management team, providing high-level financial expertise and supporting strategic planning.

About the Role

  • Provision of accurate and timely financial information to stakeholders, including senior management, budget holders, and external parties.
  • Expert advice and guidance on budgeting, financial monitoring, and forecasting.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues, budget holders, and external stakeholders.
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial forecasts, costing research and business development opportunities, and promoting the safeguarding of public funds.
  • Leading, managing, and motivating staff to ensure continuous improvement of services.

Requirements

  • A full current membership of one of the following professional bodies: Chartered Accountants Ireland, The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland, The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, or The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland.
  • No less than 2 years' post-qualification experience in financial planning, budgeting, financial management, financial accounting, auditing, development/implementation of financial systems, or strategic planning and decision support in a finance or regulatory environment.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a salary of approximately £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, dependent on experience. Additional benefits include a range of training and development opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and access to a range of employee benefits.
