Care and Support Assistant Role
Sanctuary Supported Living is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care and Support Assistant to join our team at our CQC Registered scheme in Ipswich.
As a Care and Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care and support to our customers, promoting their independence and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing personalized care and support to customers, encouraging them to live independently and promoting active support.
- Assisting customers with daily tasks such as washing, dressing, and hygiene.
- Administering medication and assisting with shopping, cleaning, and laundry tasks.
- Helping customers arrange and attend appointments, including with their GP.
- Promoting a positive culture by engaging with customers to prevent social isolation.
- Keeping accurate and up-to-date records.
- Promoting safe practices and undertaking risk assessments.
Requirements:
- A personalized approach to care, ideally with experience working with physical or learning disabilities.
- Enthusiasm and flexibility, with a strong "can-do" attitude.
- Strong organizational skills and functional literacy and numeracy.
- Ability to react quickly to changing priorities while working to deadlines and targets.
- NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it is desirable.
- Good communication skills to build strong relationships with customers.
