EHS Policy and Compliance Specialist

We are seeking an EHS Policy and Compliance Specialist to oversee and control effective site EHS policy and processes at our North East sites. This permanent opportunity requires a strong influencer with the ability to drive an enthusiastic approach to implementing EHS policies and safe standards of work across the business, ensuring cultural safety changes and improvements.

With a degree/HNC/HND level education, you will have chemical engineering industry appropriate experience with NEBOSH diploma (or equivalent) and an excellent command of EHS application on COMAH sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring UK sites comply with EHS/COMAH regulations and processes by championing a proactive approach to practices and performance
  • Managing team performance and training whilst maintaining motivation and identifying developmental opportunities
  • Leading and assisting incident investigation and audit programmes
  • Reviewing policies and procedures and acting as lead person with 3rd party reporting

Additional key requirements:

  • A thorough proven knowledge and understanding of EHS management and safe systems of work, with application in an COMAH regulated environment and industrial facilities
  • Ability to report EHS performance though data and root cause analysis
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving and priority and time management skills
