Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Marine Expert to join our team at Lloyd's Register. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a challenging role and make a significant impact in the marine industry.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing assessments and providing specialist advice for service delivery, research, or development work within agreed parameters. They will also review cases received into Fleet Services, via salesforce or email, and progress to resolution.

In addition, they will review, audit, and endorse survey reports issued globally, and advise corrective action implementation to section leaders as applicable. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.

They will also pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge, and awareness. Furthermore, they will mentor/coach other employees, as appropriate, to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide specialist support/advice within a discipline to internal/external clients. They will also produce deliverables within agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility to review other employee's work as appropriate.

Finally, they will discuss/present the deliverable with the internal/external client up to senior level and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd's Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of two years programme) or Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship's officer.

Membership of an appropriate professional institution is also essential. Additionally, working towards achieving Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status is desirable. Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work is required.

Candidates should also have experience of surveys and/or experience as seagoing officer. In terms of salary, we offer a competitive package of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
