Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Highways and Transport Planner to join our team at Ernest Gordon Recruitment, working with a leading consultancy within transport planning and highway design. This is a great opportunity for an experienced transport planner or similar to take on a senior position with a company that heavily invests in the development of their staff.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the design and planning of highways and will be looking for a challenging role where they can utilise their knowledge and skills to deliver projects effectively.

As a senior member of the team, you will have the opportunity to liaise/consult with clients, contractors and local/national authorities on projects and requirements, ensuring all assigned projects are delivered on-time and to budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare transport assessments, transport statements and travel plans, ensuring compliance with UK Transport Planning standards and processes.
  • Complete junction capacity assessments using software such as ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and local/national authorities to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
  • Ensure all assigned projects are delivered on-time and to budget, managing resources efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Conduct site visits and design surveys to provide reports and presentations, utilising AutoCAD knowledge to create accurate designs.
Requirements
  • Degree or similar in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering.
  • Understanding of software such as ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG.
  • Experience of UK Transport Planning standards and processes.
  • AutoCAD knowledge.
Salary & Benefits

The salary for this role is approximately £45,000 - £50,000 per annum, plus a profit share bonus, regular learning and development opportunities, and individualised training courses. We offer a competitive benefits package and a supportive working environment.
