About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Communications Specialist to join our Public & Government Affairs team at Barclay Meade. The successful candidate will work closely with the External Affairs Manager to deliver effective external communications for our high-profile industrial site in Fife.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive community contributions programme, identifying funding opportunities and collaborating with local stakeholders.
  2. Manage the day-to-day administration of the contributions programme, ensuring smooth execution and timely delivery.
  3. Work closely with colleagues to promote STEM education initiatives, engaging with local schools and community groups.
  4. Design and implement proactive communications strategies to enhance public understanding of company operations.
  5. Craft compelling content for social media and web channels, driving engagement and brand awareness.
  6. Write and edit copy for various digital and print channels, ensuring consistency and quality.
  7. Conduct market research to inform the development of targeted campaigns, addressing key business objectives.
  8. Liaise with the media team to identify and pursue local communication opportunities, drafting news releases and securing press coverage.
  9. Oversee the production and distribution of high-quality visual content, including photography and videography.
  10. Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly to community enquiries and resolving complaints efficiently.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum 3-5 years' experience in corporate communications, with a proven track record of success.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media and web content management systems.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A collaborative mindset, with a willingness to work closely with cross-functional teams.
