About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Deputy Director of Operations and Performance to join our team at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our paediatric services and contributing to the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compassionate care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support the Divisional Operational Manager in the provision of patient-centred care and a culture of continuous quality improvement.
  2. Work in partnership with clinical colleagues to ensure that activity, cancer, booking/choice, access (including relevant aspects of A&E) and quality targets are achieved, having regard for Trust policies and procedures, and to support the development of action plans to manage any variances.
  3. Monitor and co-ordinate the day-to-day of Trust risk management and clinical governance policies and systems effectively, ensuring a proactive approach to reduction of clinical risk, clinical effectiveness, and a safe and healthy environment in line with the governance strategy.
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Educated to degree level or Management Diploma or equivalent/significant experience in a managerial role.
  • Post-graduate management qualification and/or equivalent level of knowledge gained through experience.
  • Experience of reconfiguring/modernising patient services, including audit and continuous quality improvement.

Essential skills include:

  • Effective organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong relationship development and leadership skills with management, peers, and direct reports.
  • Demonstrates understanding and commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.
