Opportunity to shape and lead the communications and engagement strategy for an ambitious major programme that will transform the way we deliver healthcare infrastructure for the future NHS, including developing a legacy of exceptional and enduring capability for Trusts, the wider healthcare system and industry.

Job Overview

NHS England is seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Strategist to join its team and play a key role in shaping the communications and engagement strategy for its major programme. As a Senior Communications Strategist, you will have the opportunity to work on a high-profile project that aims to transform the way healthcare infrastructure is delivered for the future NHS.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of communications and engagement strategy development. You will be responsible for leading a high-performing team and ensuring effective coordination across Programme level activity and Trust-led activity. Your key objectives will include:

  1. Developing, delivering, and embedding a clear communications and engagement plan for all NHP activity.
  2. Providing quality assurance for all communications and engagement across NHP's diverse stakeholder groups.
  3. Leading sensitive stakeholder management and correspondence activity.
  4. Managing key risks and issues associated with ensuring appropriate actions are taken to mitigate or respond.

The NHS England board has set out the top-level purpose for the new organisation to lead the NHS in England to deliver high-quality services for all. This purpose informs the detailed design work, which aims to achieve two main objectives:

  1. Enabling local systems and providers to improve the health of their people and patients and reduce health inequalities.
  2. Optimising the use of digital technology, research, and innovation.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in communications and engagement strategy development, as well as experience in leading high-performing teams. You will also need to have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups. Additionally, you will need to have a deep understanding of the NHS and its operations, as well as experience in working in a fast-paced environment.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £53,500 per annum, plus benefits, including a pension scheme, life insurance, and annual leave. We are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment, where you can grow and develop your career. If you are passionate about communications and engagement strategy development and want to make a real difference in the NHS, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
