Role Overview

We are seeking a talented Wayfinding Strategist to join our London-based design practice. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an award-winning team, delivering high-profile projects throughout the UK and internationally.

As a Wayfinding Strategist, you will play a key role in developing enduring products and solutions that better the lives of those who use them. Your passion for people and cities, combined with your energy, voice, and enthusiasm, will inspire the team and represent the company at all levels.

About the Role

This is a full-time position, reporting directly to the Senior Team Lead. You will work closely with our studios in Australia and New Zealand, collaborating with other design disciplines to coordinate and deliver successful designs.

The ideal candidate should have a genuine interest in user-centric design, with excellent conceptual and strategic thinking skills. You should be proactive, collaborative, and able to work well under pressure, with strong written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills.

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering projects from strategy and concept through to site, adhering to design briefs and programmes.
  • Undertaking project and user research, including data collection and analysis.
  • Developing wayfinding strategies, designs, schedules, and guidelines for complex buildings and external environments.
  • Collaborating with other design disciplines to coordinate and deliver successful designs.
  • Assisting with artwork production and quality assurance.
  • Planning and preparing presentations and design reports to a high standard.
  • Delivering client and stakeholder presentations/workshops with support from the senior team.
  • Acting as project lead (for candidates with relevant experience), managing client relationships, budgets, programmes, resources, and delivery teams.
  • Assisting with new business opportunities, including tenders, pitches, and competitions.
  • Mentoring or acting as a 'buddy' to other Wayfinding Designers, Interns, or New Starters.
  • Attending industry events and networking opportunities.
  • Maintaining knowledge of industry trends and developing technical and professional development skills.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in Graphic Design, Architecture, Planning, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years' industry experience in wayfinding strategy and design, including a high-quality portfolio of work.
  • Experience multi-tasking and working across concurrent projects, with partners such as Architects, Engineers, Landscape, and Urban Planners.
  • Excellent conceptual and strategic thinking skills with a user-centric focus.
  • Strong written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and able to work well under pressure.
  • Conscientious, detail-oriented, and organized, with proven time management skills.
  • Passionate and self-motivated.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • An interest in sustainable cities and public transport systems would be highly advantageous.
What We Offer

We offer a generous package based on skills and level of experience, including a competitive salary of approximately £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
