Job Summary

As a Payments Risk Steward at LHH Recruitment Solutions, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the organisation's payment systems are secure, compliant, and protected from risks and fraud. This position requires a strong understanding of payment systems, including ACH, wire, card networks, and digital payments, as well as expertise in payments risk management, fraud detection, and prevention techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the risk management framework for payments, aligning it with our client's risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and assess risks across all payment channels and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Enhance risk management policies, procedures, and controls through thematic reviews.
  • Review and assess fraud prevention and detection measures to safeguard payment channels.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to implement robust cybersecurity measures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including AML, PCI-DSS, PSD2, and other industry standards.
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes and liaise with compliance and legal teams to ensure payment operations meet all legal obligations.
  • Support internal audits by providing evidence and documentation of risk management practises.
  • Oversee the response to payment-related incidents, conduct post-incident reviews, and implement corrective actions.
  • Continuously assess and manage risks associated with third-party payment processors and vendors critical to payment operations.
  • Prepare and present regular risk reports to senior leadership, outlining current risk exposures and recommended mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and deliver training programmes on payments risk management for employees involved in payment operations.
  • Promote a culture of risk awareness within the organisation, ensuring all employees understand their role in mitigating payments risks.
  • Lead and mentor a team of risk professionals focused on payments, fostering a proactive risk management culture.

Requirements
  • Proven experience with payment systems, payment processing, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • In-depth knowledge of payment systems, including ACH, wire, card networks, and digital payments.
  • Expertise in payments risk management, fraud detection, and prevention techniques.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to payments, including AML, PCI-DSS, and PSD2.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in incident management and risk analysis.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
