Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care, treatment, and advice to patients aged 16-24 years. This is a fantastic chance to work across adult and children's services, developing skills and knowledge in different areas of healthcare.

About the Role
  • As a specialist nurse, you will provide expert support, information, and advice to young people with cancer and their families, acting as a key worker.
  • You will assess patient care needs, plan, implement, and evaluate programs of care, working closely with the TYA team to enhance patient care.
  • With a focus on promoting patient choice and age-appropriate care, you will ensure equitable access to supportive care across the region.
  • As a core member of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), you will contribute to patient assessments, planning decisions, and education for healthcare professionals.
Key Requirements
  • Significant experience as a Band 5 Staff Nurse or equivalent post-registration experience within the speciality.
  • Awareness of current healthcare issues and knowledge of the specific needs of teenage and young adult patients with cancer.
  • Proven ability to work with teenagers and young adults, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
