Job Title: Advanced Technical Lecturer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Technical Lecturer to join our Engineering department at Newcastle College. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and assessing high-quality learning programmes in Engineering, across a range of levels of further education, higher education, and/or apprenticeship provision.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and assess high-quality learning programmes in Engineering
  • Undertake programme leadership, tutorial, and programme administration duties
  • Teach and manage learning on a range of courses from entry level to level 7 in the jobs in demand sector of electrical engineering
  • Translate technical requirements of the workplace into high-quality, subject-specific delivery of microcontrollers, electronic, and electrical engineering
  • Lead subject pedagogy in their discipline and share expert delivery of teaching, learning, and assessment in the subject context of practical-based mechanical engineering

Requirements:

  • Strong background in electronic and electrical engineering
  • Proven track record of professional/vocational expertise in the sector
  • Qualified to honours degree level (Level 6) or qualified to the industry-recognised standard in a relevant field
  • Post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2
  • Ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines, and possess strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills
